Oh this album managed to slot itself so perfectly into my library of music, it was shocking. Moving seamlessly between my musical sensibilities and that of my father, this album was just a joy to behold. The sound is very old-school rock but it flows into this mind melding psychedelia that’s just awesome. This is a wonderfully trippy album and it refuses to stick to just one genre. It has funky basslines, choral vocals, jazzy riffs, and a vibe that comes together to make an enjoyable listening experience for both novices and veterans of the genre. The lyrics are surreal and ethereal as the guitar solos paint an equally open-ended picture in your mind.

I hate comparing one artist to another but this album is what a modern CSNY would sound like, atleast to me.

My Favourites

  1. All That Is and Is One - The lyrics are steeped in mysticism and the vocal harmonies drew a straight line in my head to Helplessly Hoping. If I didn’t know better, I would have gone my whole life thinking this song was CSNY

  2. Earthly Emerald Eyes - Yet another song I would have assumed was CSNY. It has an inescapable bluesy feel that kind of reminds me just enough of The Doors to catch my ear.

  3. Universe Goggles - Opening with traces of Brubeck’s Take Five, this is a 10 minute long blend of swing and prog rock sound.
