Week 13 - For Those Who Chant - Luis Gasca - The Forgotten Santana Album.

A seemingly lost recording, found only by those who know to lof for it on YouTube, this album is, as my dad would say “zimply awesome”. From the opening few seconds itself, the album lets you know what to expect. Gasca, the trumpeter on the album is joined by Carlos Santana on guitar, Joe Henderson on Saxophone and George Cables on Piano to name a few. A true powerhouse ensemble of the era’s legends, this album of only 4 songs blurs the lines between Latin, Jazz and Rock and Roll in a fantastic manner. The rhythm and pace is quintessential Santana, a sound only enhanced by the brass.
